About Us

Owner Nick Kyriakidis

Nick graduated from McCallie School and Washington & Lee University in Lexington, Virginia with a degree in Economics. After graduating W & L, Nick returned to Chattanooga to work along side his family in opening The Acropolis. Nick grew up in the restaurant business and his first solo business venture was selling tomatoes at his father's restaurant in New York. In March 2007, the former Southside Grill came up for sale, he and his brother purchased it. Nick took his education and combined it with years of experience to create a restaurant atypical of the American Greek restaurant. Using the freshest ingredients and bringing out the true flavors of the Mediterranean are these brothers' goals.

Chef Edward Lewis

A native of Chattanooga, he has been in the food industry for 22 years starting his career at The Read House where his interest in food was discovered. From there, he gained more knowledge in different cultures of food including the five years of experience received in Toledo, Ohio where he landed his first Sous Chef position at The Raddison Hotel in 1990. Finally moving back to his native Chattanooga in 1996, he began working at Southside Grill as Sous Chef where his mentor Chef Jeremy Reimer expanded his knowledge even further. In the spring of 2007, he started at Back Inn Café as the executive chef. In 2008, not long after Niko’s Southside Grill opened, Edward became the executive chef and now brings to you a Mediterranean-American influenced menu on the southside of Chattanooga.
